What HooDoo stores
HooDoo stores your saved alarms, dates, times, sound choices and recording references on your device. Mobile apps schedule active alarms with the phone so they can ring after you leave the app. On the website and desktop, the alarm list survives a reload, but browser audio must be resumed after reopening. Past alarms missed while the page was closed are kept in the list and switched off.
Your recordings and notes
HooDoo asks for microphone access only when you start recording. Free lets you save up to three recordings of up to 30 seconds each. Premium allows unlimited recordings of up to five minutes each, background music, and audio imports of up to five minutes each. Saved recordings remain in local browser storage or private app storage on the device. They are not uploaded to your HooDoo account or sent to the ad provider. You can listen back, export a file, or delete an item from your recording library. An exported copy remains wherever you save or share it, even if you later delete the item in HooDoo. Clearing browser site data or uninstalling the app removes recordings stored by HooDoo on that device.
Who owns a recording
Your original voice recordings and other content you create remain yours; HooDoo does not claim ownership of them. If you add background music, your voice remains yours, but the music remains subject to its creator’s rights and license. Adding music does not give you ownership of that track or unrestricted rights to the combined file. If you export or share a recording with music, follow the track’s license, including any credit requirements. The same principle applies to audio you import: you must have the rights needed to use and share it.
What HooDoo sends
The website alarm interface has no advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or cloud alarm database. Installed apps offer an optional account for purchases and referrals when those services are enabled. Alarm settings and recordings are not uploaded to that account. HooDoo does not request your contacts, location, or camera. Bundled sounds and icons play locally.
Mobile app advertising
The free Android app uses Google AdMob for banner ads. Google may process device, network and ad-interaction information when ads are requested. Where required, the app offers ad privacy choices before requesting ads and provides a way to revisit them. An active Premium trial or verified Premium purchase stops ad requests. HooDoo does not send your recordings to Google AdMob. See Google's privacy policy. Desktop development banners do not contact an advertising network.
Optional accounts and purchases
You can use HooDoo Free without an account. To start a seven-day Premium trial or buy Premium on Android, sign in to a HooDoo account; Google Play then presents the trial or purchase and handles payment details. HooDoo uses Supabase Auth for account sign-in and stores an account ID and purchase-verification records on its server. Payment card details remain with Google Play. Alarm lists and recordings are not uploaded. Account sessions use protected operating-system storage, and signed purchase receipts can support offline ad-free access until the verified purchase expires.
Website hosting
The website host receives normal request information, such as your IP address and browser information. Its privacy terms govern that service. Installing the native mobile app does not require a hosting account.
Permissions
Recording requires microphone permission. The website can request a screen wake lock while an alarm is armed. Android uses alarm scheduling, notification, foreground audio and wake permissions. iPhone uses AlarmKit permission to schedule alarms. You can revoke permissions in your device settings.
Removing your settings
Clear the website's site data or uninstall the app to remove local settings and recordings. Cancel an active alarm in HooDoo before uninstalling. Uninstalling does not delete your account or cancel a Google Play subscription. To remove your HooDoo account and associated server records, choose Delete my account in your in-app Profile or use the account-deletion page after uninstalling. Cancel subscriptions separately in Google Play.
Third-party links
Sound-credit and store links open third-party services with their own privacy policies.
